What is the i-muse video guide?

It’s a new way of visiting museums, exhibitions, both natural and theme parks, archeological sites and cities. A virtual guide installed on a PDA device or mobile Smartphone, making your visit more interesting, thanks to its multimedia content (e.g. audio, movies, pictures and animations).

Is i-muse difficult to use?

Absolutely not! The user interface has been optimized after 100 usability tests and is extremely clear and intuitive. All the visitor has to do, is bring the PDA device close to the selected object, or he selects it on the interactive map and the multimedia contents start automatically.

What are the mobile devices and the smart labels?

By mobile device, we mean PDA devices or mobile smartphones. The smart labels, are microchips which can reach a maximum size of 0,8 x 0,8 inch.

Do I need invasive structures for installation?

No. The only thing you need is our PDA device system which includes an Rfid antenna and smart labels. In case a visitor uses his own PDA device or smartphone, it is sufficient to go to an access point where he can download the i-muse video guide. The GPS and the GSM system, used for outdoor installations, are included in the latest generation of PDA devices and in the smart phones as well.

What is an access point?

It’s a small device which allows one to download via wireless the video guide to the visitor’s PDA or smartphone. Customers don’t need an internet or wireless connection.

Content can be created by us, in collaboration with our client; who can also create and manage it thanks to the i-muse Creator.

It’s an interactive tool which lets the customer manage the video guide content ,by himself. i-muse Creator has got a clear and user friendly interface.

Is it possible to download the video guide to a cell phone?

Yes, it’s possible to download the guide to a smartphone with Windows Mobile OS. It’s in development the extension to the Symbian and Androyd platforms. It will be possible to download the guide to an Iphone, from the App Store too.

Is i-muse accessible for disabled people?

Yes, it is. i-muse offers content ad hoc for the visually handicapped, subtitles for deaf people and an icon reader for the partially sighted.

Does i-muse divert the visitor’s attention from the exhibit?

No, it doesn’t. Contents are chosen and shown, only if they add value to the exhibit; further more, every time that an image changes or a video starts, an audio alert lets us to notice it. So the visitor looks at the video guide, only when it’s useful.
